Conference OverviewThe 20th annual meeting of the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society/Société Canadienne de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles (CAIMS/SCMAI) will be held simultaneously with the 9th Journéee des éléments finis at Université Laval in Québec City, Québec, Friday 11th-Sunday 13th June 1999.
In addition to invited and contributed lectures and to a poster session, the organizing committee plan to include, in the program, minisymposia in continuum mechanics, scientific computing, discrete mathematics and various aspects of the application of mathematics to biology and medicine. Some of these will be organised jointly with SIAM and GAMM. All contributions will be reviewed for presentation by the Scientific committee composed of
Other highlights will include the CAIMS/SCMAI doctoral dissertation award lecture, a poster session with a prize for the best graduate student poster, reception, banquet and more.
